RSSL cracks open the 'bubbly'
RSSL has added a new semi-automatic carbonator to the equipment in the pilot plant available at the Process Research Centre at the University of Reading. The carbonator can be used for pilot-scale manufacture of a wide range of drinks, which can be packaged in glass or plastic bottles. It will be a useful tool for the new product development specialists at RSSL LinTech, who frequently work on behalf of soft drink clients to develop new formulations.
The carbonator is relatively low capacity so ideal for the scale-up from laboratory bench. It can be used alongside other equipment at the PRC, such as pasteurisation equipment, to more closely mimic the process environment.
This being RSSL's 20th year in business, the company might be tempted to create some bubbly of its own for its birthday celebrations in July, but according to technologists at RSSL, it's strictly for use by clients only at the moment.
