LinTech comes of age - and gets a new name
RSSL is to rename its LinTech department as the Product and Ingredient Innovation Department of RSSL. The move coincides with LinTech's 18th birthday, and better reflects the growing contribution that the business is making to the use and development of new ingredients and products. The name change will take effect from November 1st 2007.
LinTech's early work centred around the use of sweetener formulations as sugar replacements. The business still retains this expertise and has helped a wide range of clients to replace sugars with sweeteners. However, the current scope of the department's work is much wider, involving re-formulation of products to incorporate a wide range of functional ingredients including vitamins and natural products. The department is also increasingly active in helping manufacturers to develop 'free-from' ranges, to improve the consumer acceptability of existing products, as well as creating new ranges.
The Product and Ingredient Innovation Department also works with RSSL's sensory evaluation, consumer research, clinical studies specialists, as well as RSSL's analytical laboratories, and also offers access to pilot plant facilities, meaning it can help clients with virtually any aspect of the NPD process.
