RSSL Pharma is highly specialised in the analysis of physical contaminants.  Contaminants need to be identified quickly and where possible the origin determined.

Our well equipped microscopy laboratory is experienced in the identification of foreign materials and particulates found in raw ingredients through to all types of finished product including: powders, tablets, capsules, creams and liquids.  We also identify residues and deposits from manufacturing vessels, pipe work, filters and tanks.

Examples of contaminants identified include:

• Plastic packaging materials, including laminates and foils
• Metal fragments and dusts
• Glass fragments
• Machine greases and oils
• Fibres and hairs
• Visible particulates in liquids, powders and solids
• Surface discolourisation
• Insect parts
