One of the new teams in the South Chiltern minor league has had a great start to the new season by signing its first sponsorship deal. Caversham Reds and Caversham Whites, which are the two under ten girls' teams run by Caversham AFC, have received sponsorship from local laboratory, Reading Scientific Services Ltd (RSSL).
Some of the funding has gone towards buying distinctive red training tops, which the girls will also be wearing before matches.
According to mother and coach, Laurie Ali, "The girls are delighted with their new tops, and also with their start to the season. Last week, both the reds and the whites secured emphatic victories, which is a brilliant start considering we only joined the league this year."
RSSL is an independent laboratory working in the food and drink industry. The company has a strong history of supporting youth development initiatives in the region, including working with local schools to raise awareness of food science topics. "We are particularly keen to encourage young people to take an interest in science as a career, but also to understand about healthy eating and active lifestyles," says Commercial Director, Jacinta George. "We support many of our clients in developing food products that have health benefits, so we're delighted to support this group of energetic girls in enjoying football and keeping fit."
