Compliance Management Improved at RSSL
Reading Scientific Services Limited (RSSL) has installed new software to improve its regulatory compliance management. As an independent global leader providing scientific analysis, consultancy, product development and training to the food, drink, pharmaceutical and healthcare industries, RSSL must conform to regulations and standards laid down by MHRA, FDA and ISO 17025 amongst others, and compliance involves a huge amount of documentation.

RSSL first TEAM players
Reading Scientific Services Ltd will soon become the first laboratory in the UK to offer a commercial service in elemental analysis, using the new Apollo XL EDX analysis detector and TEAM software from EDAX.

Major moves at RSSL
Dr Bob Hagan is the new managing director of Reading Scientific Services Ltd. His career to date spans commercial, marketing and R&D roles with major names in the food and pharmaceutical sectors, including Quaker Oats, Warner & Lambert, Pfizer, Cadbury and Kraft Foods. Dr Hagan also heads the global analytical network for Kraft Foods, and is well placed to steer the growth of RSSL's internal and external businesses. "This is an exciting time for this facility," says Dr Hagan. "We are already an important research organisation for our many external customers, as well as the internal customers within Kraft, and we are keen to expand our business."

On July 16, Reading Scientific Services Ltd (RSSL) will celebrate 18 years of accreditation by UKAS, the independent body appointed by government to assess testing organisations for competence, impartiality and performance capability.

Kicking off the season with new sponsors
One of the new teams in the South Chiltern minor league has had a great start to the new season by signing its first sponsorship deal. Caversham Reds and Caversham Whites, which are the two under ten girls' teams run by Caversham AFC, have received sponsorship from local laboratory, Reading Scientific Services Ltd (RSSL).
