Tops for Training

 06 Jan 2009

RSSL Pharma Training goes into 2009 with several new courses that promise to give delegates the inside track on the regulator's requirements and the key knowledge required for career progression in their role as auditors or Qualified Persons.

New courses include Internal Auditing, which is an entry-level course with a focus on pharmaceutical GMP. Several subjects are explored in detail to build up knowledge and confidence in GMP. Also new is External Auditing, which provides an introduction to the requirements of external auditing described in the international standard 19011. It covers the audit standards used by external suppliers of API's, excipients, packaging materials and laboratory services.  Both courses will be assessed and certified by RSSL in line with the requirements of its Lead Auditor course, which is certified by IRCA.

Also new for 2009 are revamped modules within RSSL's Qualified Person training schedule. For example, RSSL Pharma Training now works with Professors from the School of Pharmacy at the University of Reading to provide the 'Medical Chemistry and Therapeutics' element of its QP training. The 'Maths and Statistics' module is also being completely rewritten to reflect current and future needs.

The changes follow on from a major overhaul of the organisation's courses since the appointment of Lyndsey Wright as Training Manager. "RSSL Pharma Training has always used top industry professionals to run its courses. Our tutors really know their subjects, and their level of knowledge and expertise is second to none. For example, our tutors don't just know the relevant standards, they often helped to write them. Several of our tutors have been QP assessors for the Royal Society of Chemistry, or led the Pharmaceutical Quality Group team that developed the Pharmaceutical Suppliers Code of Practice. Many have spanned the roles of manufacturer, regulator and standard setter, so that they can give our delegates the key facts they need to know and highlight the danger areas that have to be addressed. Delegates can be confident that by attending an RSSL Pharma Training course, they will get access to tuition from top-ranked industry professionals, who are willing and able to share their knowledge in a practical and relevant fashion."
