16th December 2008 This interactive one day training course is essential for anyone working in a food environment. It develops a sense of responsibility and an awareness of the risks posed in manufacturing, storing, distributing and selling food products.
The course uses activities and exercises to make the learning experience as interactive as possible. There are plenty of opportunities for questions and discussion. The course is approved by the Royal Institute of Public Health (RIPH) and leads to their examination "Foundation Certificate in Food Hygiene and Safety". It is aimed at food handlers and owners in retail, manufacturing or catering.

- Introduction to food hygiene and food poisoning
- Legal Requirements
- Sources of microbiological, chemical and physical hazards
- Storage and temperature control
- Good hygienic practices (cleaning, pest control, cooking and cooling)
- HACCP
