Nutrition for Non-Nutritionists
£430 + VAT
25th September 2008 It is estimated that 1 in 5 adults in the UK are obese and that this figure has tripled over the last 20 years. This causes losses of 18 million sick days, 30000 deaths per year and £2 billion on the British economy. The areas of nutrition, diet & health are increasingly important to the food manufacturer and retailer as the customer demands healthier options such as lower fat, less salt and less sugar. Also, the areas of fortification and supplementation are becoming more popular as foods are being investigated as good sources of nutrients, such as phytochemicals with 'medicinal' properties.
This course will provide delegates with an excellent refresher on the basics of nutrition and the latest information regarding obesity, salt, vitamins and minerals, and other developing nutritional issues. It also details some of the more practical issues that personnel in non-technical roles may need to be aware of. Aimed at sales & marketing personnel, non-technical staff, product development and customer service staff, this one-day workshop provides practical activities in relation to labelling and product formulation in order to explore the latest guidance on nutrition and health.
Ideal for anybody who needs to communicate nutritional facts to the customer.
