7th - 9th July (PT2) This course covers the key issues concerning the formulation and processing of a wide range of dosage forms.
It is essential that a Qualified Person has a good understanding of the properties of chemical compounds and how they interact with each other during manufacturing.
This course is primarily aimed at trainee QPs but will be an invaluable source of information to any person who would like an increased level of understanding of the main issues associated with pharmaceutical product formulation and production.

- Basic pharmaceutics and major pharmaceutical dosage forms
- Particle sizing, mixing and blend content uniformity
- Tabletting, capsules and tablet coating
- Topical products and liquid formulations
- Sterile products
- Pulmonary delivery products
- Commonly encountered problems and issues with product formulations
Processing
- Fundamental GMP requirements
- Factory layout and design
- GMP and process requirements for steriles, solid, liquid, topical and inhalation products
- HVAC systems, cleanroom design, operation and monitoring
- Water systems design, operation and monitoring
