We are highly specialised in the identification and determination of origin of physical contaminants.
Our well equipped Microscopy Laboratory is experienced in the identification of foreign materials and particulates found in raw materials through to all types of finished product including: powders, tablets, capsules, creams and liquids. We also identify residues and deposits from manufacturing vessels, pipe work, filters and tanks.
Examples of contaminants identified include:
- Plastic packaging materials, including laminates and foils
- Metal fragments and dusts
- Glass fragments
- Machine greases and oils
- Fibres and hairs
- Visible particulates in liquids, powders and solids
- Surface discolouration
- Insect parts
