Particle Characterisation

Investigating particle size and morphology can be vital during product development and particle characterisation is a valuable tool for quality control and solving problems during manufacture.

Measurements of particle size distribution (PSD) can be supported by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) to investigate the shape, surface features and aggregation of particles, as well as light microscopy and image analysis techniques.

To complement this, our Physical Sciences Laboratory can determine PSD of powdered, granulated material and emulsions using the Malvern Mastersizer 2000.
