Who we are and what we do

RSSL is a leading Contract Research Organisation (CRO) with a focus on product development, analytical testing, training and consultancy. Our purpose is to help clients overcome the scientific and regulatory challenges they face, either by performing the science on their behalf, or empowering their staff to do it themselves. Pharmaceutical and food companies outsource services to us as experts in our field and we deliver high quality technical solutions in return.

Our organisation at a glance:

  • We provide scientific services to all the top pharmaceutical and FMCG companies. At the time of writing, we have 485 different analytical clients in pharma and biopharma alone!
  • We’re approximately 300 people – big enough to make a huge impact, but small enough to retain a close-knit community.
  • We’re made up of two sites – the Reading Science Centre based on the Reading University Campus and a brand-new Wokingham site in the neighbouring town, which we’ve just opened thanks to expansion.
  • Our external training programme has helped over 10,000 delegates since its launch in 1987!
  • We have invested over £15 million in facilities and analytical equipment – showing just how cutting-edge our kit really is.
  • On average, our employees stay for between 5-10 years and a quarter are veterans with more than 10 years’ service.
