UK Recalls

**Marks & Spencer recalls three mussel-based shellfish products
Marks & Spencer is recalling from consumers three of its mussel-based products, following a small number of reports of illness in the UK. The company is recalling the products as a precautionary measure while investigations are taking place. The Food Standards Agency has issued a Product Recall Information Notice.

**Sacla' withdraws Coriander Pesto
Sacla' has withdrawn jars of its Coriander Pesto with a 'best before' date of 31 July 2015. This is because a packaging error means the jars contain Basil Pesto with cashew nuts as an ingredient, which is not mentioned on the label. This product is a possible health risk to anyone with an allergy to cashew nuts. The Food Standards Agency has issued an Allergy Alert.

**Sainsbury's withdraws Chicken Paella Meal Soup
Sainsbury’s has withdrawn its Chicken Paella Meal Soup with a ‘use by’ date of 18 November 2013 because the product contains milk, which is not mentioned on the product label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or its constituents. The Food Standard Authority has issued an Allergy Alert.

**Everest Foods Momo products withdrawn from sale
Everest Foods vegetable and meat dumplings (Momo) products have been produced in unapproved premises. There is known distribution to some retail establishments in Hampshire, Kent and London. However, it has not been possible to obtain full distribution details for the products. If you have bought one of the products, do not eat it. The Food Standards Agency has issued a Food Alert for Action.

**Plum Baby Foods recall
Plum Baby Foods is recalling some ready-to-eat baby food products that have a manufacturing defect which may cause food spoilage. As a precautionary measure, Plum Baby Foods is recalling the batches of the products affected. The Food Standards Agency is issuing a Product Recall Information Notice.

**Tesco 4 Chocolate & Nut Ice Cream Cones recalled
Tesco is recalling its own-brand 4 Chocolate & Nut Ice Cream Cones on a precautionary basis, because pain relief tablets have been found within two individual cones. If you have bought this product, do not eat it. The FSA has issued a Product Recall Information Notice.

**Sainsbury's withdraws Goats' Cheese and Beetroot Bakes
Sainsbury's has withdrawn packs of its Taste the Difference Goats' Cheese and Beetroot Bakes with Roast Beetroot Salsa, which have a 'best before' end date of August 2014. This is because a packaging error means some packs may contain a product with egg as an ingredient, which is not mentioned on the label. The product is a possible health risk to anyone with an allergy or intolerance to egg.  The Food Standards Agency has issued an Allergy Alert.

**Edna May Christmas puddings recalled
Matthew Walker is recalling, as a precautionary measure, some of its Edna May brand Christmas puddings because of signs of mould growth. The Food Standards Agency has issued a Product Recall Information Notice.

**Dried fishery products packaged in an unapproved establishment
The FSA is making local authorities aware that various dried fish products have been packaged in an unapproved establishment, trading as Africa Choice. If you have bought one of the listed products, displaying the approval number UK OL026 EC and/or bearing the labelling information 'Packed by Africa Choice', do not eat it.  There is known distribution to some specialist retail establishments in London and Manchester. However, it has not been possible to obtain information on the origin of the packaged products or the full distribution details. Some of the implicated products have been found on sale at a number of food premises in the London area and may have been distributed by Afro Food Centre Ltd. The Food Standards Agency has issued a Food Alert for Action.

**Sainsbury's recalls its Kids 20 Pork Cocktail Sausages
Sainsbury's has recalled packs of its own-brand Kids 20 Pork Cocktail Sausages because some packs might be labelled with an incorrect 'use by' date of 25 December 2013. This product should have been labelled with a 'use by' date of 25 November 2013. Eating a product after its 'use by' date could pose a possible risk to health. The Food Standards Agency has issued a Product Recall Information Notice.
