UK Recalls

**Sainsbury's recalls its Frozen Sticky Toffee Sponge Pudding

Sainsbury's has recalled its 'by Sainsbury's' Frozen Sticky Toffee Sponge Pudding, because the product may contain small pieces of metal. (FSA)

  • Tesco Ireland is recalling a batch of Tesco 'Free From' Digestive Biscuits, because some packs may contain biscuits from the Tesco 'Free From' Milk Chocolate Digestive Biscuits range, which contains soya and milk. This allergen information is not declared on the label of the implicated Tesco 'Free From' Digestive Biscuits
  • Marks & Spencer has withdrawn its Lightly Dusted Salt and Pepper British Chicken Fillets from sale given the presence of egg in a small number of packs, which is not declared on the label.

**From Australia and New Zealand

  • Kiwi, Mel-O-Rich and Much Moore ice cream & frozen desserts: an ingredient used in some products was re-packed in an unlicensed food premises.
  • Grand Foods Pty Ltd has recalled various soft and hard cheese products and one butter product from small independent supermarkets and Middle Eastern specialty stores in VIC only, due to Listeria monocytogenes contamination.
  • Scenic Rim 4 Real Milk has recalled their Unhomogenised Full Cream Milk and Great Tasting Full Cream Milk from IGA stores and small independent supermarkets in South East QLD only. The recall is due to E.coli contamination.

  • Sun Valley and Castle brand shredded cheese products recalled due to Listeria
  • Oh Green brand Black Cereal beverage powder recalled due to undeclared milk
  • Elite brand Bittersweet Chocolate recalled due to undeclared milk
  • Ferme Sunshine brand drink mix powders recalled due to undeclared milk
  • Master Kong brand noodle products recalled due to undeclared egg and sesame
  • Ferme Sunshine brand Almond Powder recalled due to undeclared milk
  • Club Supreme brand snack foods recalled due to undeclared milk
  • Industry is recalling El Monterey brand Taquitos and Tornados® from the marketplace because they are believed to pose a risk. The manufacturer used some of the beef products which were recalled by Rancho Feeding Corporation, Petalama, California, USA.
  • Tekki Shomen brand Noodles in a Cup recalled due to undeclared milk
  • Ova Easy brand dried egg product recalled due to Salmonella
  • Various Tillamook Country Smoker brand beef jerky products recalled
  • Master Kong brand noodle products recalled due to undeclared egg
  • Various meat products from Starpac Meat Processors Inc. recalled due to undeclared egg, mustard and soy

  • Roos Foods of Kenton, DE is recalling certain cheeses because they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes
  • Wolfgang B. Gourmet Foods, Inc. of Catskill, NY, is voluntarily recalling approximately 236 units of Fairway brand condiment grilling sauce, net wt. 12 oz., UPC 758940706093, because it contains undeclared fish (anchovies)
  • Fannie May issues a voluntary recall of its 4.0 oz. Heart-shaped Box Of Assorted Chocolates due to undeclared peanuts
  • Falafel King of Boulder, Colorado is recalling 10 ounce containers of Hatch Green Chile Hummus and 8.5 ounce Hatch Green Chile Wraps because they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes
  • Whole Foods has recalled Tom Yom soup due to undeclared milk
  • Ice Cream Specialties issues allergy alert on undeclared peanut allergen in Dairy Rich Chocolate Ice Cream
  • Kettle brand voluntarily recalls limited run of bakes sea salt potato chips due to potential milk allergen
  • Evolution Fresh is initiating a voluntary product recall of approximately 1,700 bottles of 'Organic Sweet Greens and Ginger' juice. The company initiated the recall after identifying a small number of Organic Sweet Greens and Ginger juices with best by dates of March 2, 2014 that were swollen
  • Roth Farms recalls "curly parsley" because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella

**EU Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF)

The database of rapid alert notifications hosted by the European Commission has recently changed format. The weekly list of notifications has been replaced by a database, searchable by week number. The latest notifications, or updates to previous notifications are for 25 February 2014.
