UK Recalls

  • Blackfriars Bakery is withdrawing two varieties of flapjack because they may contain milk, which is not mentioned on the labels. (FSA)

Ireland Recalls

  • A batch of Blackfriars Fruit Flapjacks (best before date: 27 NOV 14; pack size: 110g) may contain milk protein, which is not declared on the label.
  • A batch of Kupiec corn flour (size: 400g; batch: A098 PL; best before: 31/10/2014) was found to contain 45 mg/kg of gluten but was labelled (in Polish) as naturally gluten free. This product has been exported from Poland and in Polish is called "Maka Kukurydziana".
  • A batch of Blackfriars Original Flapjacks (best before date: 13 DEC 14; pack size: 110g) may contain milk protein, which is not declared on the label.

Australia and New Zealand Recalls

  • Simply Fresh Food Company has recalled Mama Chow Beef Bulgogi Gyoza from Costco stores in ACT, NSW, QLD and VIC due to the presence of foreign matter (white opaque plastic).
  • Wattie's Spaghetti in Tomato Sauce (300g cans, batch code FJH0814) has a possible packaging defect which may cause the inside lid layer to fail and affect the food.
  • Nayon Import Export Pty Ltd has recalled Connie's Kitchen Gourmet Tuyo Dried Herrings from Chinese and Filipino supermarkets in NSW due to biotoxin (histamine) contamination.
  • Schweppes Australia P/L has recalled Schweppes Lemon Lime & Bitters in ACT, NSW and QLD from Coles, Woolworths, Aldi, IGA and many other smaller retailers including take-away stores, liquor stores and service stations due to quinine contamination not declared on the label.
  • Woolworths has recalled Macro Natural Five Grain Porridge from Woolworths, Safeway and Thomas Dux Supermarkets nationally due to the presence of an undeclared allergen (sesame seeds).

Canada Recalls

  • Sesameco is warning the public not to consume and retailers, restaurants and institutions not to sell or use its Al Fakher Tahina product (Production date: 8-April-2014, Expiration date: 8-4-2016) due to possible Salmonella contamination.
  • Farquhar's Orchards Fine Foods is recalling Farquhar's Orchards Fine Foods brand salmon products (House Candied Salmon, UPC starts with 0 204109; House Smoked Salmon, UPS starts with 0 204108) from the marketplace because they may permit the growth of Clostridium botulinum.
  • Fromagerie Abbaye de Saint-Benoît-du-Lac. is recalling Le Moutier Ripened Firm Goat Cheese from the marketplace because it may contain the toxin produced by Staphylococcus bacteria. Consumers should not consume the following recalled products: Lot 140781, Lot 140782, Lot 141271. These products may also have been sold in smaller packages, cut and wrapped by some retailers.
  • T-Brothers Food & Trading Ltd. is recalling Daeha brand crackers from the marketplace because they contain egg which is not declared on the label.
  • Unicer Foods Ltd. is recalling "Queijo de Vaca" Cheese (Lot 14BPMTAUMT), product of Portugal, from the marketplace due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.
  • Marché Balkan is recalling various wafers from the marketplace because they contain peanut which is not declared on the label.
  • Industry is recalling Ziyad brand Baba Ghanouj and Soup Starter Soup Base from the marketplace because they contain milk and sesame which are not declared on the label.
  • Fromagerie Le Détour (2003) Inc. is recalling Le Verdict d'Alexina (Produced 2014MA05, Best before 2014JL04; Lot 11; Lot 11 14 05 05)and Grey Owl (Lot 19; Lot 19 14 05 05) cheese from the marketplace because they may contain the toxin produced by Staphylococcus bacteria.

US Recalls

  • Kraft Foods Group is voluntarily recalling 260 cases of Velveeta Original Pasteurized Recipe Cheese Product (Consumer Package UPC Code 021000611614) because it does not contain appropriate levels of sorbic acid, a preservative ingredient. While unlikely, the affected product could spoil prematurely and/or lead to food borne illness. Therefore, the company is issuing this recall as a precaution.
  • Doctor's Best is voluntarily recalling lot 3121005 (7379 bottles) of Red Yeast Rice dietary supplement, 600 mg Capsules, 120-count bottles to the retail level. Red Yeast Rice has been found to contain undeclared lovastatin, a previously approved drug indicated for the treatment of high cholesterol, making this an unapproved new drug.
  • Nestlé USA is initiating a recall of limited amounts of ice cream due to mismatched packaging. The affected products are 14-ounce cartons labeled as Häagen-Dazs Chocolate Chocolate Chip Ice Cream with a UPC of 74570-08400, and lid labeled as Häagen-Dazs Chocolate Peanut Butter. The best buy date and manufacturing code appear on the bottom of the carton: Best By date of 13May2015, Manufacturing code of 24-52 4133580418D. These mismatched packages contain Chocolate Peanut Butter ice cream, and the ingredient statement on the carton applies to Chocolate Chocolate Chip Ice Cream and does not identify peanuts.
  • Richard's Rubs & Seasonings LLC is recalling Richard's Too Good BBQ Sauce, Richard's Too Good Hot Sauce and Richard's Too Good Teriyaki Sauce because they may have been improperly processed and because they may have the potential to be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum. The recalled sauces were sold in western Washington grocery stores and butcher shops in Kitsap, Snohomish and King counties. This recall has been initiated because of a consumer complaint indicating that sauce may have been improperly processed. Richard's Rubs & Seasonings LLC has not been notified of any illness associated with their products.
  • Oriya Organics, LLC is voluntarily recalling Oriya Organics Superfood Protein Medley (21.2 oz, UPC Code:85370100401, with Lot #A14314 and an expiration date of 05/23/2015) which contain Organic Sprouted Chia Seed Powder due to possible health risks related to Salmonella contamination.
