UK Recalls

  • Denar Limited is recalling all date codes of its 200g Denar Golden Sultanas because of the presence of sulphur dioxide, which is not mentioned on the packaging. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with a sensitivity to sulphur dioxide or sulphites. (FSA)
  • Holle Baby Food GmbH Serviceburo is recalling all batches of specific Holle branded and Lebenswert branded baby foods due to the presence of atropine and scopolamine. (FSA)
  • Tayto Group Ltd has recalled a batch of ‘Tayto Snack Attack 10+5 (Bikers, Rollers and Chips) multipack’ because it contains milk, soya and wheat which are not mentioned on the outer wrapper. This makes the product a possible health risk for those with an allergy or intolerance to milk (or its constituents) and/or an allergy or intolerance to wheat or gluten and an allergy to soya. (FSA)
  • GoNutrition has recalled a batch of bottles of its GoFood Liquid Egg Whites with a ‘best before’ end of 8 April 2015. This is because some bottles have shown the presence of Salmonella. (FSA)
  • Gima UK Ltd is recalling all packs of various Bodrum dried fruits because of the presence of sulphur dioxide, which is not mentioned on the packaging. This means the products are a possible health risk for anyone with a sensitivity to sulphur dioxide or sulphites. (FSA)
  • Shire Foods of Norfolk is recalling all packs of Jumbo Golden Sultanas because the product contains sulphur dioxide, which is not mentioned on the packaging. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with a sensitivity to sulphur dioxide or sulphites. (FSA)

Ireland Recalls

  • Holle Baby Food GmbH Serviceburo is recalling the Holle branded and Lebenswert branded baby foods listed above due to the presence of atropine and scopolamine in some batches tested.  These chemicals are undesirable plant constituents. In-store recall notices should be displayed in outlets that sold the affected products. (FSAI)

Canada Recalls 

  • Franz Roessl Holdings Limited is recalling ready-to-eat meat products from the marketplace due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. (Canada Inspection)
  • Shoppers Drug Mart is recalling From Our Chefs brand meat products sold at the Shoppers Drug Mart located at 1630 Danforth Avenue, Toronto, Ontario from the marketplace due to possible improper refrigeration. Consumers should not consume the recalled products. (Canada Inspection)
  • Chocolat Harmonie Inc. is recalling Orientale brand chocolate fondue products from the marketplace because they contain milk which is not declared on the label. People with an allergy to milk should not consume the recalled products. (Canada Inspection)
  • SA Sausages is recalling Serengeti Trading brand ready-to-eat meat products from the marketplace because they contain mustard or sulphites which are not declared on the label. People with an allergy to mustard or a sensitivity to sulphites should not consume the recalled products. (Canada Inspection)
  • The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is warning people with an allergy to sesame or almond not to consume their Rice Cracker, Almond Cracker and Salted Almond Cracker products because they may contain sesame or almond which are not declared on the label. (Canada Inspection)

US Recalls  

  • Giant Eagle has issued a recall of Giant Eagle Apple Pistachio Salad and Apple Pistachio Salad with Chicken because the salads may contain fresh cut Gala red apples currently recalled by Del Monte Fresh Produce N.A. due to potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination. To date, Giant Eagle has received no reports of customer illnesses associated with this recall. (FDA)
  • Flat Creek Farm & Dairy of Swainsboro, GA has recalled 3 lots of cheese with lot codes 140802XAZ (Aztec Cheddar), 140702XAZ (Low Country Gouda voluntary recall) and 140725XGO (Aztec Cheddar voluntary recall) because of potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. Salmonella is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. (FDA)
  • Del Monte Fresh Produce N.A., Inc. (“Del Monte Fresh”) announced today the voluntary recall of fresh cut fruit containing Gala red apples grown in Pennsylvania. The affected product was distributed to a limited number of customers in a few States in North East US and is being recalled because these apples have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes , an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.   • Global Garlic, Inc. of Miami, FL is recalling De Mi Pais products: Cuajada Fresca (Fresh Curd) 12oz. and Cuajada Olanchana (Fresh Curd) 12oz., because it has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria Monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women. (FDA)
  • Whalen’s Horseradish Products, Inc. of Galway, NY is recalling Whelen's Seafood & Burger Sauce, because it contains undeclared anchovy, an element of the Worcestershire Sauce used in the finished product. People who have an allergy to fish run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product. (FDA)
  • Safeway is voluntarily recalling Safeway Select French Salted Caramel (Fleur De Sel) Premium Ice Cream sold in all Safeway-owned stores from November 4, 2014 through December 5, 2014 due to the inclusion of an undeclared peanut allergen. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product. The recalled product is in a 1.5 quart package and displays the following UPC Code and Best Before Date. (FDA)
  • Abdallah Candies of Burnsville, MN is taking precautionary measures and voluntarily recalling red and silver foil wrapped Holiday Caramel Bites. One customer has reported finding a peanut butter bite, wrapped in red foil, in a bag of holiday caramel bites. The date code on the bag was EK-08. Peanut butter bites contain peanuts as an ingredient, which was not declared on the label. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these. (FDA)
  • Overhill Farms, Inc. of Vernon, California is voluntarily recalling the frozen food product Open Nature Chile Cheese Enchiladas due to potential Salmonella contamination. The supplier for the organic cilantro contained in such product notified Overhill Farms that the organic cilantro may have Salmonella contamination based on routine testing conducted. The product is sold nationwide at all Safeway-owned stores, including Safeway, Carrs, Genuardi’s, Pak ‘N Save, Pavilions, Randalls, Tom Thumb and Vons. (FDA)
  • Lakeland Animal Nutrition has been informed that certain horse feeds manufactured by the company in Lakeland, Florida and distributed within the state of Florida may contain monensin and lasalocid. Serious injury or death can occur in horses consuming feeds containing monensin and/or lasalocid. Three horses reported to have consumed the feed being recalled died and other horses at the same equine facility had significant health reactions, the cause of which is still being determined. (FDA)
  • House of Flavors, Inc., based in Ludington, Michigan, is recalling Ciao Bella Dark Cocoa Sorbetto manufactured by House of Flavors because it’s ingredients may include an undeclared dairy allergen. Consumers who may have an allergy or severe sensitivity to dairy run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product. For consumers who are not allergic to dairy, there is no safety issue with this product. The recall was initiated after receiving one complaint that included an allergic reaction from a consumer allergic to dairy. The company is conducting an internal audit to determine possible cause. (FDA)
  • Three Connecticut Whole Foods Market locations are recalling “Tarte Aux Pommes” produced and sold in West Hartford Center, Bishops Corner and Glastonbury, Connecticut due to undeclared almonds. The tarte was mislabeled as a “Tarte Aux Pomme 10in” and has a “best by” date between November 20 and December 1, 2014. (FDA)
  • Quality Meats, Inc., an Omaha, Neb., establishment, is recalling approximately 44,372 pounds of frozen pork belly product because they were not presented at the border for USDA-FSIS Import Inspection, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. Without the benefit of full inspection, a possibility of adverse health consequences exists. (USDA)
  • Real Foods LLC, a Kent, Wash., establishment, is recalling approximately 308 pounds of Chef Salad with Ham and Turkey due to misbranding and undeclared allergens, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. The product contains fish (anchovies), a known allergen which is not declared on the product label. (USDA)
