UK Recalls

  • J & K Smokery Ltd has recalled all packs of its vacuum packed smoked fish because of concerns about procedures to control Clostridium botulinum. This bacterium produces a toxin that may cause a serious form of food poisoning called botulism. Although no trace of the toxin has been found in products tested, a recall from customers is being carried out as a precautionary measure. (FSA)
  • Lidl UK is recalling its Italiamo Cream of Potato & Spinach Soup because a packaging error means some packs contain Minestrone Soup. As a result, egg and wheat (gluten) is not mentioned on the packaging. This means the product is a possible health risk for those with an allergy or intolerance to egg and/or wheat (gluten). (FSA)
  • Windmill Organics Ltd is recalling a batch of Taifun Tofu Basilico, 200g, because some packs may contain small pieces of plastic. If you have bought this product, do not consume it. The FSA has issued a Product Recall Information Notice. (FSA)
  • Quorn has recalled two batches of its Chef's Selection Meat Free Beef Steaks because the wrong product has been packaged. The presence of wheat (gluten), barley (gluten) and milk is therefore not mentioned on the label. This makes the product a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to wheat gluten, barley gluten and milk. (FSA)
  • JJ Support Limited has recalled E. Wedel Supreme Jaffa Orange Cakes (147g) because some packs contain a milk ingredient not mentioned on the packaging. This means the product poses a potential health risk to those with an allergy or intolerance to milk and its constituents. (FSA)
  • Lidl has recalled all batches of its Deluxe Elderflower presse in Northern Ireland as it contains sulphites as an ingredient, which is not mentioned on the label. This makes the product a possible health risk to anyone with a sensitivity to sulphites and/or sulphur dioxide. (FSA)
  • Brindisa Spanish Foods is recalling La Chinata Smoked Paprika Mild because salmonella has been detected. Salmonella is a bacterium that can cause food poisoning. The FSA has issued a Product Recall Information Notice. (FSA)
  • Nisha Enterprises Ltd has recalled a batch of its Nisha's Toffee Bonbons, 140g, with 'best before' end dates of July, September and November 2015 because some packs contain milk, which is not mentioned on the label. This makes the product a possible health risk to anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk and its constituents. (FSA)
  • Sainsbury’s is recalling its by Sainsbury’s British Lamb Shish Kebabs because a packaging error means some packs contain beef kebabs instead of lamb. As a result, soya and wheat are not mentioned on the packaging. This means the product is a possible health risk for those with an allergy or intolerance to wheat and/or an allergy to soya. (FSA)

Canada Recalls 

  • Industry is recalling No Name and Barber Foods brands uncooked stuffed chicken products from the marketplace due to possible Salmonella contamination. Consumers should not consume and distributors, retailers and food service establishments such as hotels, restaurants, cafeterias, hospitals and nursing homes should not sell or use the recalled products.   • HQ Fine Foods is recalling Gloria's brand and Lunch Box Roast beef sandwich products from the marketplace due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. Consumers should not consume the recalled products described below. (Canada Inspection)
  • FG Deli Group Ltd. is recalling Grimm's Fine Foods brand Home Style Roast Beef from the marketplace due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. Consumers should not consume the recalled product described below. (Canada Inspection)
  • Sofina Foods Inc. is recalling no name and Compliments brands frozen uncooked breaded chicken products from the marketplace due to possible Salmonella contamination. Consumers should not consume the recalled products described below. (Canada Inspection)

US Recalls  

  • Homemade of Leavenworth, Washington is recalling pickle and sauce products because they may have been improperly produced. Washington State Department of Agriculture routine sampling discovered that a bottle of Homemade Bread and Butter Pickles had a pH level high enough to allow the growth of Clostridium botulinum. Required records were not available to support that safe processing guidelines were followed on all sauce and pickle products produced at Homemade. (FDA)
  • Maya Overseas Foods Inc. of Maspeth, NY, is recalling approximately 8000 lbs. of Cashew Split because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis. (FDA)
  • Carnivore Meat Company, LLC is recalling select products and lots of Carnivore Vital Essentials pet foods because they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. (FDA)
  • Arthur Schuman Inc. of Fairfield, NJ is recalling 30,200 lbs. of Bella Rosa Grated Parmesan Cheese (1.25lbs), because it may contain undeclared egg allergen. People who have an allergy or sensitivity to eggs, run the risk of serious or life threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product. (FDA)
  • Milwaukee, Wis. — Stella & Chewy’s is voluntarily recalling some of its products due to concerns of a possible presence of Listeria Monocytogenes. The recall was prompted by a positive test confirming Listeria monocytogenes in Chewy’s Chicken Freeze-Dried Dinner Patties for Dogs, 15 ounce, Lot #111–15, during routine surveillance testing by the Maryland Department of Agriculture. (FDA)
  • Whole Foods Market is recalling Cherry, Blackberry and Peach pies produced and sold in four retail stores in the Southwest Region, which includes TX, OK, LA, and due to undeclared egg. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to egg run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products. (FDA)
  • Boulder, Colorado – Boulder Dog Food Company, L.L.C. is voluntarily recalling the Turkey Sprinkles (3 oz.) with a "Best By" date of "05/18/16, 05/28/2016 and 05/30/2016", a Lot Number of "743", and a UPC Code of 899883001224 because the product has the potential of being contaminated with Salmonella. Salmonella can affect animals eating the product, and there is risk to humans who handle the product, especially if the handler does not thoroughly wash his or her hands after having contact with the Product or any surfaces exposed to the product.   • Brett Anthony Foods is recalling two 8oz cups of Whole Foods Market® brand vegetable chili because they were labeled incorrectly and may contain undeclared milk. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products. (FDA)
  • Vitamin Cottage Natural Food Markets Inc., a Lakewood, Colo., based natural grocery chain, is recalling one lot of Natural Grocers brand Caribbean Nut & Fruit Mix as the product contains macadamia nuts that have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. (FDA)
  • Barber Foods, a Portland, Maine establishment, is recalling approximately 1,707,494 pounds of frozen, raw stuffed chicken products that may be contaminated with Salmonella Enteritidis, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. (USDA)
  • Gourmet Culinary Solutions, a Statham, Ga., establishment, is recalling approximately 495 pounds of turkey sausage products that are part of a frozen entrée that also contains French toast sticks and peaches. The entrées may be contaminated with foreign materials, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. (USDA)
  • Bassett & Walker International, Inc., a Toronto, Canada, establishment, is recalling approximately 1,540 pounds of beef lip products produced in Australia that were not presented at the U.S. point of entry for inspection, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. Without the benefit of full inspection, a possibility of adverse health consequences exists. (USDA)
  • Lombardi Brothers Meats, a Denver, Colo. establishment, is recalling approximately 26,975 pounds of tenderized steak and ground beef products that may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. (USDA)
  • Barber Foods, a Portland, Maine establishment, is recalling approximately 58,320 pounds of frozen, raw stuffed chicken product that may be contaminated with Salmonella Enteritidis, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. (USDA)
