UK Recalls

  • Sainsbury’s is recalling Sainsbury’s Basics Unsweetened UHT Soya Drink because a manufacturing fault has caused curdling in some products. (FSA)
  • Morrisons recalls its Savers Cooked Ham due to detection of Listeria monocytogenes. (FSA)
  • Yu! Healthy Snacks has recalled its Yu! Yoghurt Coated Granola & Mango Mini Clusters and Yu! Yoghurt Coated Granola & Strawberry Mini Clusters because they contain elevated levels of gluten. The products are labelled as ‘gluten free’. This means the products are a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to gluten. (FSA)
  • Waitrose is recalling its Asian Fusion Rice Noodles because of a manufacturing error. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to egg and/ or wheat (gluten). (FSA)
  • Tesco recalls its Branflakes because some packs may contain small pieces of plastic due a production fault. (FSA)

  • Aldi recalls McCallums Scottish Double Cream because low levels of Listeria monocytogenes have been found in a limited number of pots. Listeria monocytogenes can cause food poisoning, especially in vulnerable groups and expectant mothers. (FSA)

  • Bakers Delight has recalled its ‘free from’ Enjoy Gluten Free Wafer Fingers because of the possible presence of salmonella. Salmonella is a bacterium that can cause food poisoning. (FSA)
  • Atkins International BV is recalling packs of its Atkins Endulge Chocolate Break Wafers because of the possible presence of salmonella. Salmonella is a bacterium that can cause food poisoning. (FSA)
  • Tesco has recalled its 'Tesco Free From 5 Belgium Chocolate Wafer' due to possible presence of Salmonella. The FSA has issued a Product Recall Information Notice. (FSA)
  • SuperValu has recalled four flavours of its soup because they possibly contain small pieces of plastic. If you have bought one of the products, do not eat or drink it. The products were only distributed in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. (FSA)

Ireland Recalls 

  • Tesco Ireland is recalling the above batches of Tesco Bran Flakes, as a small number of packets may contain plastic fragments.  No other products are affected by this recall.  Tesco Ireland is issuing in-store recall notices requesting customers who have bought these implicated batches to return them to a Tesco store.   • The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) is advising consumers of a food recall of fresh mussels supplied from Wednesday of this week to some retail stores throughout Ireland.  The mussels were harvested from Roaringwater Bay, Co. Cork on Monday and Tuesday of this week and may contain harmful levels of diarrhetic shellfish poisoning (DSP) toxins.  These mussels were sold loose and in bags at fresh fish counters in some retail outlets nationwide.  The FSAI is warning consumers who may have the product at home not to eat the affected mussels. The implicated mussels have now been removed from sale. (FSAI)
  • As a precautionary measure, Tesco Ireland is recalling all batches of Tesco ‘Free From’ 5 Belgian Chocolate Wafers, due to the possible presence of Salmonella. (FSAI)
  • Corleggy Cheeses is recalling all batches of its raw milk cheeses due to the detection of verocytotoxigenic Escherichia coli (VTEC) in two batches of its cow’s milk cheese.  The cheeses are supplied to some restaurants and retail shops.  They are also sold directly at food markets. Consumers are advised not to eat the affected cheeses. (FSAI)
  • As a precautionary measure, Musgrave Retail Partners Ireland is recalling the listed implicated batches of soups due to the possible presence of hard plastic pieces.  Customers can contact Musgrave’s helpline with queries on Lo-Call 0818 333 311. (FSAI)

Canada Recalls 

  • Overwaitea Food Group is recalling field cucumbers purchased from Save On Foods, PriceSmart Foods, Coopers Foods, Overwaitea, and Freson Brothers due to possible Salmonella contamination. Consumers should not consume the recalled product. (Canada Inspection)
  • Safeway is recalling field cucumbers and various in-store produced products that contain cucumbers purchased from Safeway due to possible Salmonella contamination. Consumers should not consume the recalled products. (Canada Inspection)
  • Diageo Canada is voluntarily recalling Smirnoff Ice brand alcoholic beverages from the marketplace due to possible glass contamination. Consumers should not consume the recalled products. (Canada Inspection)
  • Nha Trang Deli Inc. is recalling Nha Trang Deli Inc. brand meat balls and rolls from the marketplace because they contain anchovy and wheat which are not declared on the label. People with an allergy to anchovy or wheat, or sensitivity to gluten should not consume the recalled products. (Canada Inspection)
  • Transilvania Trading is recalling Trader Joe's brand Dark Chocolate Covered Honey Grahams with Sea Salt from the marketplace because they may contain milk which is not declared on the label. People with an allergy to milk should not consume the recalled product. (Canada Inspection)
  • Circle K brand baked goods recalled due to undeclared milk and sulphites. (Canada Inspection)
  • Powell Trading Co. is recalling Nice Choice brand Fried Cookie – Seaweed flavour from the marketplace because it contains peanut which is not declared on the label. People with an allergy to peanut should not consume the recalled products. (Canada Inspection)
  • Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries is recalling Amsterdam Brewery brand Sweetwater Squeeze Blood Orange Radler from the marketplace due to swelling and bursting cans. Consumers should not consume the recalled product. (Canada Inspection)
  • Industry is recalling oysters harvested from BC coastal waters on or before August 18, 2015 and intended for raw consumption from the marketplace due to possible Vibrio parahaemolyticus contamination. Consumers should not consume and distributors, retailers and food service establishments such as hotels and restaurants should not sell or use the recalled product. (Canada Inspection)
  • Safeway is recalling various store-packaged, cooked Chicken Wings from the marketplace because they may contain the toxin produced by Staphylococcus bacteria. Consumers should not consume the recalled products. (Canada Inspection)
  • Industry is recalling Heinz Apple broccoli, pea & brown rice and Mott's Fruitsations Fruit Rockets – Unsweetened Strawberry from the marketplace due to potential loss of seal, causing spoilage. Consumers should not consume the recalled products. (Canada Inspection)
  • Casy Industries Ltd. is recalling Casy's Kwik brand Gluten-free Corn Snax from the marketplace because they may contain hazelnut and almond which are not declared on the label. People with an allergy to hazelnut or almond should not consume the recalled products. (Canada Inspection)
  • Can-Roxy Trading Inc. is recalling Coffee Soft Candy, Maccha Soft Candy and Ribon brand Soft Hokkaido Milk Candy from the marketplace because they contain soy, milk and wheat which are not declared on the label. People with an allergy to soy, milk or wheat or with a sensitivity to gluten should not consume the recalled products. (Canada Inspection)

US Recalls  

  • Okarche Bakery of Okarche, OK is recalling ALL FROZEN COOKIE DOUGH, because it may contain undeclared Milk, Soy, Wheat and Yellow #5. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to these allergens run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product. (FDA)
  • Andrew and Williamson Fresh Produce (“A&W”) of San Diego, California is voluntarily recalling all cucumbers sold under the Limited Edition® label during the period from August 1, 2015 through September 3, 2015 because it may be contaminated with Salmonella. (FDA)
  • Food Nation Produce 47-05 Metropolitan Ave Ridgewood, NY 11385 is recalling Western Beef packaged of Sun Dried Tomatoes, because it may contain undeclared sulfites. People who have severe sensitivity to sulfites run the risk of serious of life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume this product. (FDA)
  • The Kraft Heinz Company is expanding the voluntary recall of select code dates and manufacturing codes of individually-wrapped American slices due to the possibility that a thin strip of the individual packaging film may remain adhered to the slice after the wrapper has been removed. If the film sticks to the slice and is not removed, it could potentially cause a choking hazard. (FDA)
  • H-E-B has issued a voluntary recall specifically for the Hill Country Fare One Gallon Spring Water with the Best By date of December 19, 2015, due to the possible presence of a milk allergen. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product. There have been no consumer complaints or reports of illness.(FDA)
  • Sincerely Nuts Inc. of Brooklyn, NY, is recalling packages of Sincerely Nuts Macadamia Nuts (Raw) Whole and Sincerely Nuts Macadamia Nuts (Raw) Unsalted Halves and Pieces because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.  In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis. (FDA)
  • Bonduelle USA Inc. of Brockport, NY is recalling 9,335 cases of frozen corn because it has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women. (FDA)
  • Bimbo Bakeries USA has initiated a voluntary regional recall of certain bread products under the Sara Lee®, Kroger®, Bimbo®, Nature’s Harvest®, Great Value and L’Oven Fresh® brands due to the possible presence of fragments of glass caused by a broken light bulb at one of its bakeries. (FDA)
  • General Mills today announced a voluntary Class I recall of a limited quantity of frozen Cascadian Farm Cut Green Beans produced over two days in March 2014. The recall is being issued as a precaution after one package of finished product tested positive for the presence of Listeria monocytogenes. No related illnesses have been reported in connection with this product. (FDA)
  • Jo’s Candies of Torrance, California is voluntarily recalling Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate covered Honey Grahams with Sea Salt (SKU 55024), because it may contain milk, which was not declared on the label. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products. Two reactions have been reported to date. (FDA)
  • Sid Wainer and Son of New Bedford, MA is voluntarily recalling Jansal Valley brand Raw Macadamia Nuts, because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis. (FDA)
  • Sam Mills USA LLC is voluntarily recalling approximately 11,083 cases of - 4.4 ounce boxes of Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Granola Bars because of a risk of cross contamination with Dairy. The recall is being initiated because the Sam Mills Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Granola Bar packaging states that this is a Dairy free product and in fact it should be labeled that in "May contain Traces of Dairy". (FDA)
  • Chetak New York L.L.C. of Edison, NJ is recalling 300 jars of 14.1 oz "Deep Coriander Powder", Lot# LE15152, because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e. infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis. (FDA)
  • Northwest Farm Food Cooperative of Burlington, WA, is voluntarily recalling frozen raw Cat Food with the code Jul12015B due to their potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. (FDA)
  • Real Foods of Seattle, LLC of Kent, WA is recalling 29 cases of Harvest Slaw Kit and 13 cases of Broccoli Salad Kit because it may contain undeclared peanut ingredients. No other products are impacted by this recall. This recall is being conducted in coordination with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products. (FDA)
  • Mahina Mele Farms is recalling the following products after FDA testing found Salmonella in macadamia nuts. Salmonella, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis. (FDA)
  • Angry Orchard Cider Company, LLC, Cincinnati, Ohio, today announced that it is conducting a voluntary recall of select cases (24/12oz bottles), 12-packs and 6-packs of Angry Orchard Crisp Apple Hard Cider. (FDA)
  • Good Seed Inc. of Springfield, VA is voluntarily recalling all packages of soybean sprouts and mung bean sprouts because they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections to individuals with weakened immune systems.   • Kilwin's Quality Confections, Inc., of Petoskey, Michigan, is voluntarily recalling 5 ounce containers of SUGAR FREE Milk Chocolate Caramels because they were incorrectly labeled and may contain undeclared cashew. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to cashew run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these incorrectly labeled products. (FDA)

  • Schrader Farms Meat Market, a Romulus, N.Y., establishment, is recalling approximately 20 pounds of ground beef product that may be contaminated with non-O157 Shiga toxin-producing E. coli, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. (USDA)
  • The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today that Olli Salumeria Americana, LLC., an Oceanside, Calif., establishment, is recalling approximately 5,391 pounds of salami products due to misbranding. The products’ packaging does not contain a list of ingredients, and FSIS wants consumers to be aware that this product was formulated with wine that contains sulfites. Consumption of these products may cause adverse health consequences for consumers who have sulfite sensitivities. (USDA)
  • Kenosha Beef International LTD, a Kenosha, Wis. establishment, is recalling approximately 89,235 pounds of pork sausage patty products that may be contaminated with extraneous materials, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. (USDA)

  • Ocho Rios, a Miami, Fla. establishment, is recalling approximately 7,228 pounds of canned corned beef produced in Brazil that were not presented at the U.S. point of entry for inspection, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. Without the benefit of full inspection, a possibility of adverse health consequences exists. (USDA)
  • Real Foods, a Kent, Wash. establishment, is recalling approximately 41 pounds of chicken wrap products due to misbranding and an undeclared allergen, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.   • Swanson Meats, a Minneapolis, Minn., establishment, is recalling approximately 20,063 pounds of beef products due to misbranding, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. The products were formulated with soybean oil, MSG, and papain (a meat tenderizer), which were not declared on the product labels. Soy is a known allergen. MSG may cause allergy-type reactions to those who may have sensitivity to it. (USDA)
  • California Qi Li’s Braised Chicken, a Fremont, Calif., establishment, is recalling approximately 6,644 pounds of duck head and duck neck products due to misbranding and undeclared allergens, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.   • Givaudan Flavors Corporation, a Florence, Ky., establishment, is recalling approximately 3,950 pounds of beef tallow products produced in Australia that were not presented at the U.S. point of entry for inspection, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.   • Pleasant House Bakery, LLC, a Chicago, Ill. establishment, is recalling an undetermined amount of steak and chicken pie products distributed without the benefit of inspection.   • Victor’s Market Company, a Hawthorne, Calif. establishment, is recalling approximately 7,368 pounds of chicken products due to misbranding, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.   • Land O’Frost, Inc., a Lansing, Ill., establishment, is recalling approximately 17 pounds of summer sausage product due to misbranding, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.   • Good Food Made Simple, a Wellesley, Mass., distributor, is recalling approximately 3,574 pounds of previously exported turkey sausage breakfast burritos and pork strips and turkey sausage breakfast bowls that were returned from Canada and were not presented for U.S. returned export inspection, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. Without the opportunity of inspection, a possibility of adverse health consequences exists. (USDA)

Canada Recalls 

  • JL King & Co has recalled their Gourmet Salads Fried Rice from Foodland in South Australia and IGA stores in Victoria due to Listeria monocytogenes contamination. Consumers should return the products to the place of purchase for a full refund. (FSA)
  • FAL Healthy Beverages Pty Ltd has recalled Coco Joy Pure Coconut Milk Banana Flavour, Chocolate Flavour and Coffee Flavour, from independent retailers in SA and WA due to the presence of an undeclared allergen (dairy). (FSA)
  • Cottage Cheese Farm Pty Ltd has recalled Cottage Cheese Farm Goats Fetta Cheese from Cottage Cheese Farm and Middle East Bakeries in Victoria due to microbial (E.coli) contamination. Food products contaminated with E.coli may cause illness if consumed. Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice and should return the products to the place of purchase for a full refund. (FSA)
  • The Better Drinks Co Limited has recalled Phoenix branded 330ml cola (single & 4 pack), lemonade, light cola, orange fizz and raspberry fizz in BWS and Dan Murphy's stores, cafes and independent grocers in all states/territories due to a packaging fault resulting in the presence of glass fragments.
