UK Recalls

  • Jasats Family Bakers is recalling its Cheese & Onion pasty product because a fish and barley ingredient have not been mentioned on the product label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to fish and/or barley. (FSA)
  • F.L. Edge & Son Ltd has withdrawn four of its sausage products because the presence of wheat and celery has not been mentioned on the label. This means the products are a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to wheat and/or celery. (FSA)
  • Crafty Dog Cymru is recalling its chutneys and chilli jams as they contain sulphites, which were not declared on the product labelling. This means the product is a possible health risk for those with sensitivity to sulphites. (FSA)
  • Asda is recalling a batch of its Asda Chosen By You Pickled Crinkle Cut Beetroot 710g as there may be a potential risk of Clostridium botulinum contamination. Clostridium botulinum is a bacterium that can cause food poisoning. (FSA)
  • Boots has recalled a number of 'Strand Super Duper' and 'Shapers' sushi ready-to-eat products that might contain small pieces of metal. (FSA)
  • Premier Food recalls some batches of Bisto For Chicken Gravy Granules and Reduced Salt Bisto For Chicken Gravy Granules because some packs may contain small pieces of metal due to a production fault. (FSA)
  • The OOO Company recalls all varieties of its Infused Oils and vacuum-packed Halloumi Cheese because of concerns over its procedures in place to control Clostridium botulinum. (FSA)
  • Clarks (Wantage) Ltd is recalling its Wessex Mill White Spelt Bread Flour and Wessex Mill Wholemeal Spelt Bread Flour due to incorrect allergen labelling. The products are labelled as ‘low gluten’ but contain high levels of gluten. There is no set level for 'low gluten'. This means the products are a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to wheat/spelt or an intolerance to gluten. (FSA)

Ireland Recalls 

  • As a precautionary measure, Oishii Foods is recalling its sushi products made with a batch of rice that has been found to contain tiny metal particles.  No other products are affected by this recall.  Point-of-sale recall notices are to be displayed in shops where the implicated batch has been sold. (FSAI)
  • Following consumer complaints some packs of Fruice Apple and Fruice Orange were found to have ineffective seals which led to product spoilage. Mould growth was found in some Fruice Apple and oxidation was found in some Fruice Orange.  The issue has been resolved and implicated batches are being withdrawn from sale and replaced with new batches. (FSAI)
  • Premier Foods is recalling a batch of Bisto for Chicken Gravy Granules and Reduced Salt Bisto for Chicken Gravy Granules because some packs may contain small pieces of metal due to a production fault. Premier Foods has contacted retail customers and point of sale notices will be displayed in stores. (FSAI)

Canada Recalls 

  • Safeway is recalling Flight of Cheese trays prepared in store at Safeway which may contain recalled Yanni and Gopi brand cheese products due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. (Canada Inspection)
  • Tree of Life Canada is recalling Yanni and Gopi brand cheese products from the marketplace due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. (Canada Inspection)
  • Future Seafoods Inc. is recalling oysters from the marketplace due to possible Salmonella contamination. (Canada Inspection)
  • Industry is recalling field cucumbers and any in-store produced products that contain field cucumbers purchased from the listed retail stores due to possible Salmonella contamination. (Canada Inspection)

US Recalls  

  • Out of an abundance of caution, Picnic Gourmet Spreads is issuing a recall on their yogurt cheese spreads. These spreads could potentially be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. (FDA)
  • Today Karoun Dairies, Inc. announced that it is voluntarily recalling a variety of cheeses it distributes due to possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. To date, no product has tested positive for Listeria but in view of the association with listeriosis cases Karoun Dairies Inc. is initiating a voluntary recall in the interest of protecting public health.   • Appeeling Fruit Inc. in Dauberville, Penn. has been informed by one of its customers that some of the Snack Fresh brand, 2 oz. bagged red apple slices with Best-if-Used-by date 09/21/15 and production date 310815 that was voluntarily recalled on Wednesday, September 9 due to the potential of being contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may have been distributed to schools in Florida’s Palm Beach County School District. (FDA)
  • Anhing Corporation of Los Angeles, CA is recalling ABC Cookies Banh Chu it imported due to an elevated level of lead. ABC Cookies Banh Chu is made in Vietnam. (FDA)
  • organicgirl Produce is voluntarily recalling a limited quantity of 5 oz. organicgirl Baby Spinach with a Use-by Date of September 13 and Product Code B030298-001B08S due to test results indicating the presence of trace levels of the naturally-occurring element cadmium. The recall includes 1,290 cases distributed primarily to Western and Midwestern states. No other organicgirl Baby Spinach products or other organicgirl salads are included in the recall. (FDA)
  • In cooperation with the Andrew and Williamson Fresh Produce recall of cucumbers that may be contaminated with Salmonella Poona, Safeway is voluntarily recalling made-to-order deli sandwiches with cucumbers produced by Andrew and Williamson and sold in nine Safeway and Carrs stores in Alaska. (FDA)
  • Appeeling Fruit Inc. in Dauberville, Penn. is voluntarily recalling a limited number of consumer packages of fresh sliced apples with Best-if-Used-by dates of 09/14/15 and 09/21/15, due to the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women. (FDA)
  • Okarche Bakery of Okarche, OK is recalling All Frozen Cookie Dough, because it may contain undeclared Milk, Soy, Wheat and Yellow #5. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to these allergens run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product. (FDA)
  • Di Stefano Cheese Co., a Pomona, Calif., establishment, is recalling approximately 1,280 pounds of Parma Boneless Ham produced in Italy that were not presented at the U.S. point of entry for inspection, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. Without the benefit of full inspection, a possibility of adverse health consequences exists. (USDA)
  • The Pork Rind Factory, a Spartanburg, S.C. establishment, is recalling approximately 18,406 pounds of pork rinds due to misbranding and possible undeclared allergens, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. The products contain milk and soy, known allergens which are not declared on the product label. (USDA)
  • Schrader Farms Meat Market, a Romulus, N.Y., establishment, is recalling approximately 20 pounds of ground beef product that may be contaminated with non-O157 Shiga toxin-producing E. coli, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. (USDA)
  • The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today that Olli Salumeria Americana, LLC., an Oceanside, Calif., establishment, is recalling approximately 5,391 pounds of salami products due to misbranding. The products’ packaging does not contain a list of ingredients, and FSIS wants consumers to be aware that this product was formulated with wine that contains sulfites. Consumption of these products may cause adverse health consequences for consumers who have sulfite sensitivities. (USDA)

Australia and New Zealand Recalls 

  • Tongheng Trading Co Pty Ltd has recalled Coconut Juice from Asian supermarkets in NSW, ACT, QLD due to the presence of an undeclared allergen (dairy). Consumers who have a dairy allergy or intolerance may have a reaction if the product is consumed. Consumers who have a dairy allergy or intolerance should not consume this product and should return the products to the place of purchase for a full refund. (FSA)
  • Mandala Chai has recalled Mandala Chai and Mandala Chai Pure from online sales nationally and small independent stores in WA due to the presence of an allergen (dairy); on a product claiming to be 'dairy free', NOTE: sodium caseinate is listed as an ingredient on all packaging. (FSA)
  • Sammi Australia has recalled Orthodox Coconut Milk Juice from Convenience and Asian Grocery stores in NSW and ACT due to the presence of an undeclared allergen (dairy). Any consumers who have a dairy allergy or intolerance may have a reaction if the product is consumed. Consumers who have a dairy allergy or intolerance should not consume this product and should return the products to the place of purchase for a full refund. (FSA)
  • Sunnation Pty Ltd has recalled V-Fresh Coconut Milk Drink from Asian Grocery stores in NSW due to the presence of an undeclared allergen (dairy). Any consumers who have a dairy allergy or intolerance may have a reaction if the product is consumed. Consumers who have a dairy allergy or intolerance should not consume this product and should return the products to the place of purchase for a full refund. (FSA)
