UK Recalls

  • Barton Farm Dairy has been advised to recall a batch of Kentisbury Down soft cheese because of the presence of salmonella. Salmonella is a bacterium that can cause food poisoning. (FSA)
  • Cottage Delight Ltd is recalling a batch of its ‘Staffordshire Brewery Cheddleton Golden Ale’ because the bottles might shatter (FSA)

Canada Recalls 

  • Saigon Soul Food Inc. is recalling Saigon Soul Food brand Saigon Peanut Sauce from the marketplace because it may permit the growth of Clostridium botulinum. (Canada Inspection)
  • Costco Wholesale Canada Inc. is voluntarily recalling Alpine Fresh brand Snap Peas from the marketplace due to possible Cyclospora contamination. Consumers should not consume the recalled product. (Canada Inspection)
  • Portuguese Cheese Co. Ltd. is recalling St. Jorge and Queijo São Jorge raw milk cheese from the marketplace because they may contain the toxin produced by Staphylococcus bacteria. Consumers should not consume the recalled products. (Canada Inspection)
  • Kiskadee Ventures Limited is recalling freshKIS brand finger mint from the marketplace due to possible Salmonella contamination. (Canada Inspection)
  • Canada Herb is recalling NGÒ ÔM (water mint) from the marketplace due to possible Salmonella contamination. Consumers should not consume and distributors, retailers and food service establishments such as hotels, restaurants, cafeterias, hospitals and nursing homes should not sell or use the recalled product. (Canada Inspection)
  • Dindolly Enterprises Ltd. is recalling various Zeenaz brand Chevdo and Pickle products from the marketplace because they contain peanuts, tree nuts, mustard and sesame which are not declared on the label. People with an allergy to peanuts, tree nuts, mustard or sesame should not consume the recalled products. (Canada Inspection)

US Recalls  

  • Dungeness Seaworks of Sequim, Washington is voluntarily recalling ONLY canned albacore tuna with any code starting with "OC" because it has the potential to be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum, a bacterium that can cause life-threatening illness or death.  Consumers are warned not to use the product even if it does not look or smell spoiled. (FDA)
  • Bornstein Seafoods, Inc of Astoria, Oregon is voluntarily recalling ONLY canned salmon, sardines, sturgeon, and tuna with any code starting with "OC" because it has the potential to be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum, a bacterium that can cause life-threatening illness or death.  Consumers are warned not to use the product even if it does not look or smell spoiled. (FDA)
  • As a follow up to the recall issued by Skipanon Brand Seafoods, Pacific Oyster Company d/b/a The Fish Peddler of Bay City, Oregon, is voluntarily recalling canned tuna, salmon, and smoked salmon (any code starting with "OC" located under the can) that was sold at its restaurant/retail store, because they have the potential to be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum, a bacterium can cause life-threatening illness or death. Consumers are warned not to use the product even if it does not look or smell spoiled. (FDA)
  • S. Martinelli & Company of Watsonville, California, today announced a voluntary nationwide recall of certain lots of Martinelli’s 8.4 oz. mini glass bottles of Gold Medal Sparkling Cider, Sparkling Cider Northwest Blend, Sparkling White Grape, and Sparkling Red Grape, due to the possibility of small glass chips at the top of the bottles occurring when opening the bottle, which could possibly enter the beverage. Consumers could potentially be cut or injured if a chip occurs. (FDA)
  • The Garibaldi Cannery LLC of Garibaldi, Oregon is voluntarily recalling ALL cans with any code starting with “OC” of The Garibaldi Cannery canned products because it has the potential to be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum, a bacterium which can cause life-threatening illness or death. Consumers are warned not to use the product even if it does not look or smell spoiled. (FDA)
  • ECOLA Seafoods Inc. of Cannon Beach, Oregon is voluntarily recalling ALL canned salmon and tuna with any code starting with “OC” because it has the potential to be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum, a bacterium which can cause life-threatening illness or death.  Consumers are warned not to use the product even if it does not look or smell spoiled. (FDA)
  • Nijay International, Inc. of Anaheim, CA is recalling 8 cases of Down to Earth Organic Coriander Powder, because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, an organism, which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections, endocarditis and arthritis. (FDA)
  • Del Monte Fresh Produce N.A., Inc., ("Del Monte Fresh") is initiating a voluntary recall of "Fresco Fresh" brand parfait yogurt cups because they may contain undeclared almonds. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to tree nuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products. (FDA)
  • Del Monte Fresh Produce N.A., Inc., (“Del Monte Fresh”) is initiating a voluntary recall of Granny Smith green apples because they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.  Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stuffiness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women. (FDA)
  • Market of Choice is recalling its Market Cheese Shop Baked Brie Herb/Garlic variety, due to undeclared pecans (a tree nut). Use of this product by anyone allergic to pecans may result in illness or injury. (FDA)
  • Dole Fresh Vegetables is voluntarily recalling a limited number of cases of bagged salad. The product being recalled is Dole Spinach coded A27409B & A27409A, with an Enjoy By date of October 15 and UPC 7143000976 due to a possible health risk from Salmonella. Dole Fresh Vegetables is coordinating closely with regulatory officials. No illnesses have been reported in association with the recall. (FDA)
  • New Frontier Foods, Inc. of Burlingame, CA is voluntarily recalling six days of production of Ocean's Halo Gluten Free Seaweed Chips produced at a third party manufacturer because of an undeclared allergen – wheat – with potential adverse health effects. (FDA)
  • Skipanon Brand Seafoods LLC of Warrenton, Oregon is voluntarily recalling ALL LOTS, ALL SIZES of ALL Skipanon brand seafoods canned products because it has the potential to be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum, a bacterium which can cause life-threatening illness or death. Consumers are warned not to use the product even if it does not look or smell spoiled. (FDA)
  • Tristar Food Wholesale Co. Inc. 115 Amity Street, Jersey City, NJ 07304 is recalling Heng Cheong Loong Co. (HCL) Dried Golden Raisins because it contains undeclared sulfites. People who have severe sensitivity to sulfites run the risk of serious or life threatening allergic reactions if they consume this product. The consumption of 10 milligrams of sulfites per serving has been reported to elicit severe reaction in some asthmatics. Anaphylactic shock could occur in certain sulfite sensitive individuals upon ingesting 10 milligrams or more of sulfites. (FDA)
  • Whole Foods Market is recalling cheese sold in all stores nationwide that came from its supplier because it has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women. Consumers should seek immediate medical care if they develop these symptoms. (FDA)
  • New England Natural Bakers Inc. Greenfield, MA, is issuing a voluntary recall for one specific lot (747 cases) of Trader Joe’s Coconut Cranberry Granola with “Best By 08/19/16” printed on the package, because Pecan Praline Granola containing milk, wheat and tree nuts (pecans) was packaged into the Coconut Cranberry Granola box.  People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk, wheat, and/or pecans run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products. (FDA)
  • American Pure Whey, New Bern, NC is recalling its whey protein products, because they contain undeclared milk allergen and soy allergen. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to specific type of milk and soy run the risk of serious or life threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products. (FDA)
  • Taylor Farms, a Swedesboro, N.J. establishment, is recalling approximately 276 pounds of turkey meatloaf products due to misbranding and undeclared allergens, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. The products contain eggs, soy and wheat, known allergens which are not declared on the product label. (USDA)
  • Good Food Concepts, a Colorado Springs, Colo. establishment, is recalling approximately 12,566 pounds of beef, pork, and poultry products that were produced without a fully implemented Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) plan. These products are also misbranded and contain sodium nitrite, which is not declared on the product label, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. (USDA)

Australia and New Zealand Recalls 

  • Nakula Pty Ltd has recalled Nakula Organic Coconut Cream from health food stores, pharmacies, IGAs and other retailers nationally due to the presence of an undeclared allergen (dairy). (FSA)
  • Ayers Rock Trading Pty Ltd has recalled Ayers Rock Instant Coconut Milk Powder, 300g and 1kg, from small Indian retailers in NSW, ACT, QLD due to the presence of an undeclared allergen (dairy). Any consumers who have a dairy allergy or intolerance may have a reaction if the product is consumed. Consumers who have a dairy allergy or intolerance should not consume this product and should return the products to the place of purchase for a full refund. (FSA)
