UK Recalls

  • Poundland Ltd has withdrawn After Dinner Mints because the product contains milk, which is not mentioned in the ingredients list. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents. (FSA)
  • Sainsbury's is recalling its by Sainsbury's Mango Chutney 370g with 'best before' end date of October 2017 because a small number of jars have been incorrectly packaged and may contain lime pickle. This means the product might contain mustard seeds which are not mentioned on the label. The product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to mustard. (FSA)
  • The Real Lancashire Black Pudding Co Ltd is recalling a batch of its Black Pudding Slices because the product has been incorrectly labelled with a ‘use by’ date of 31 December 2016. The product should have been dated 31 December 2015. Consuming the product after its intended use by date could potentially present a risk to health. (FSA)
  • Harrods is recalling Sevre & Belle brand Le Chevrot Au Lait Cru 200g cheese with a ‘use by’ date of 4 January 2016 because it contains E.coli (STEC). This type of bacteria can cause food poisoning. If you have bought this product, do not eat it. (FSA)
  • Interlink Direct is recalling Orthodox Coconut Palm brand Coconut Juice from its customers because the product contains milk protein, which is not mentioned in the ingredients list. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone who is allergic to or intolerant of milk or its constituents. (FSA)
  • RT Foods Ltd is recalling a batch of National 'Spice Mix for Delhi Nihari' because it contains mustard as an ingredient which is not mentioned on the product label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to mustard. (FSA)
  • Dodotraders UK Ltd is withdrawing Steward’s Lazzat Spices for Chicken with a ‘best before’ date of 31 December 2015 because the product contains mustard that is not mentioned on the label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to mustard. (FSA)
  • Manning Impex Ltd has withdrawn cans of V Fresh Coconut Milk Drink because the product contains milk, which is not mentioned in the ingredients list. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents. (FSA)
  • Grannies Choice/WJN Supplies has withdrawn some packs of its Grannies Choice Chocolate Teacakes because they contain milk, soya and wheat, which are not mentioned on the product label. This makes the product a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to milk, soya or wheat or an intolerance to milk or milk constituents and/or gluten. (FSA)
  • Asda has withdrawn some pots of its Chip Shop Curry Sauce Mix with a ‘best before’ end date of October 2016 because the pots contain a cheese sauce mix. The product label does not mention the presence of milk. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents. (FSA)

Canada Recalls 

  • The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is warning people with an allergy to wheat or a sensitivity to gluten not to consume the product because it contains wheat and gluten which are not declared on the label. (Canada Inspection)
  • Ying Xiang Food Inc. is recalling Ying Xiang (Chinese characters only) brand frozen seafood products from the marketplace because they may contain egg which is not declared on the label. (Canada Inspection)
  • TFI Foods Ltd. is recalling Tasty brand Shrimp Flavoured Ball from the marketplace because it may contain egg which is not declared on the label. (Canada Inspection)
  • Seoul Trading Corporation is recalling ChoripDong brand Frozen Pre-Fried Fish Cake from the marketplace because it may contain egg which is not declared on the label. (Canada Inspection)
  • Thrifty Kitchens is recalling Chicken Veggie Pie and Tourtière from the marketplace because they may contain milk and soy which are not declared on the label. (Canada Inspection)
  • Ho Ho Ho Food Products is recalling seafood products from the marketplace because they contain egg which is not declared on the label. (Canada Inspection)
  • Hershey Canada Inc. is recalling certain Glosette brand Raisins from the marketplace because they may contain peanut which is not declared on the label. (Canada Inspection)
  • Choy Foong International Trading Co. Inc. is recalling Soyspring brand Ladies' Soybean Drink from the marketplace because it contains milk which is not declared on the label. (Canada Inspection)
  • Bothwell Cheese Inc. is recalling certain Bothwell brand shredded cheese products from the marketplace due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. Consumers should not consume and distributors, retailers and food service establishments such hotels, restaurants, cafeterias, hospitals and nursing homes should not sell or use the recalled products. (Canada Inspection)
  • Ding Ho Foods Inc. is recalling Ding Ho Foods brand seafood products from the marketplace because they may contain egg which is not declared on the label. (Canada Inspection)
  • Industry is recalling taramosalata products from the marketplace because they contain milk and sulphites which are not declared on the label. (Canada Inspection)
  • Transilvania Trading is recalling Trader Joe's brand Triple Ginger Brew from the marketplace because the bottles may burst. (Canada Inspection)

US Recalls  

  • Good Earth Egg Company, LLC of Bonne Terre, Missouri has announced a voluntary recall of its shell eggs because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.   • Milky Way International Trading Corp. today announced the recall of Nice! Mandarin Oranges in 8-ounce bottles due to potential glass in the product. The affected product was distributed to Walgreens stores nationwide and displays one of the lot numbers listed below. Consumers could potentially be cut or injured if ingested. To date there have been three complaints, and one alleged injury reported. (FDA)
  • Cape Cod Provisions LLC of Pocasset, MA is recalling Cape Cod Cranberry Candy™ and Harvest Sweets™ Milk Chocolate/Dark Chocolate/Yogurt Covered Cranberry Blend (mix of all three varieties in the package) because they may contain undeclared yogurt covered almonds. These products can further be identified by their UPC codes; Cape Cod Cranberry Candy™ UPC 6 12681 10259 3 and Harvest Sweets™ UPC 6 12681 44259 0. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to almonds run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products. (FDA)
  • All lots of New Year's Pretzels prepared and sold individually from the Bakery department inside the Carmel Market District located at 11505 N Illinois Street in Carmel, Indiana since December 26 have been voluntarily recalled by Giant Eagle, Inc. due to an undeclared walnut allergen. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to walnuts run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products. The product is safe for consumption by those who do not have walnut allergies. (FDA)
  • Big Dog Natural of Brick, NJ is voluntary recalling a select production lot of Big Dog Natural raw dehydrated dog food Chicken Supreme potentially contaminated with Salmonella and Fish Supreme potentially contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes that was shipped in the week of 10/31/2015 to 11/13/2015 to online customers. Salmonella and Listeria monocytogenes can affect animals eating the products and there is risk to humans from handling contaminated pet products, especially if they have not thoroughly washed their hands after having contact with the products or any surfaces exposed to these products. (FDA)
  • Thomas Produce Company of Boca Raton, FL is recalling 174 bulk-packed containers of Cucumbers. This product has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella may experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. (FDA)
  • Uoriki Fresh, Inc. (UF) of Secaucus, NJ is recalling its "Octopus Salad", because it has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes (LA1) , an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffuess, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. Listeria infection can also cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women. (FDA)
  • American Pure Whey, New Bern, NC is recalling all lots distributed from 7/2015 to 09/2015 of the products 100% Pure Whey Protein Matrix and 100% Pure Whey Protein Isolate, because they may contain undeclared milk and soy that are present in the whey ingredient. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk and soy run the risk of serious or life threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products. No other American Pure Whey products are affected, and the recalled products may be safely consumed by those who do not have an allergy or sensitivity to milk or soy. (FDA)
  • Taylor Farms Pacific, Inc. of Tracy, California is voluntarily recalling 190 cases of Signature Café Traditional Stuffing because the product label did not identify certain ingredients including soy, milk and wheat. The recalled product was sold in a limited number of Safeway and Pak 'N Save stores in Northern California and Nevada and Vons stores in Fresno, CA; Clovis, CA and Oakhurst, CA. (FDA)
  • The Swinomish Fish Company is initiating a voluntary recall of packages of both Traditional and Peppered flavors of NATIVE CATCH SALMON BACON with a "BEST BY" date of 1/23/16 and 3/16/16 distributed in the Western Washington and Florida areas. The Native Catch Salmon Bacon has the potential to be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum, a bacterium which can cause life-threatening illness or death. Consumers are warned to not use the product even if it does not look or smell spoiled. (FDA)
  • Mars Chocolate North America Issues Allergy Alert Voluntary Recall on Undeclared Peanuts, Wheat and Egg Ingredient for DOVE® Chocolate Assortment Snowflakes, 24.0 oz. Bag, Sold Only at One Major Retailer with Stores Across the U.S. (FDA)
  • CA-Ocean Group, Inc. of Los Angeles, CA is recalling Ocean brand Masago Lake Smelt Roe product because product labels failed to declare food allergens Wheat and/or Soy, in their ingredient statements. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to wheat or soy run the risk of a life threatening allergic reaction, anaphylaxis, that requires immediate medical attention should they consume this product. (FDA)
  • Zatarain's is initiating a voluntary recall of 8 oz boxes of Red Beans and Rice Original with a "BEST BY" date of  JUL 31 16Z distributed in the Midwest and Eastern regions of the U.S.  The Red Beans and Rice Original product may actually contain Creamy Parmesan Rice Mix with dairy ingredients.  Dairy allergens are not labeled on the Red Beans and Rice Original package.  People with a dairy allergy or sensitivity run the risk of a serious or life threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.   • New York Style Sausage Co., a Sunnyvale, Calif. establishment, is recalling approximately 4,040 pounds of pork sausage products due to misbranding, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. The products are encased in sheep casings, which are not declared on the product label and may elicit allergic reactions in those allergic to sheep proteins. (USDA)
  • Neto’s Sausage Co., Inc, a Santa Clara, Calif., establishment, is recalling approximately 7,687 pounds of beef, pork, and chicken products that were produced and labeled with the federal mark of inspection without the benefit of FSIS inspection, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. (USDA)
  • Wegmans Food Markets Inc., a Rochester, N.Y. establishment, is recalling approximately 1,125 pounds of chicken products that were produced without the benefit of federal inspection, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. (USDA)
  • Comeaux’s Inc., a Breaux Bridge, La. establishment, is recalling approximately 14 pounds of pork products that may be adulterated with Listeria monocytogenes, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. (USDA)
  • Huisken Meat Company, a Sauk Rapids, Minn. establishment, is recalling approximately 89,568 pounds of beef products that may be contaminated with extraneous wood materials, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. (USDA)
  • Du Monde Gourmet, a Park City, UT establishment, is recalling approximately 235 pounds of ready-to-eat pocket sandwich products, which may have experienced temperature deviation and may contain Clostridium perfringens, Bacillus cereus, and/or Clostridium botulinum, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.   • Bonavista Foods Inc., Ovid, N.Y. establishment, is recalling approximately 4,338 pounds of cured pork products that were not presented at the U.S. point of entry for inspection, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. Without the benefit of full inspection, a possibility of adverse health consequences exists. (USDA)

Australia and New Zealand Recalls 

  • Beta International Foods Pty Ltd has recalled Beta Wholesale Pine nuts due to the presence of an undeclared allergen (peanut). Consumers who have a peanut allergy or intolerance should not consume this product and may have a reaction if it is consumed. The product can be returned to the place of purchase for a full refund.
