UK Recalls

  • Asda is recalling its Extra Special Camembert de Pays as a precautionary measure due to the possible presence of Listeria monocytogenes. Listeria monocytogenes is a bacterium that can cause foodborne illness, particularly among vulnerable groups – these are pregnant women, unborn and newborn babies, those over 60 years old and anyone with a weakened immune system. (FSA)
  • The Co-operative is recalling its Truly Irresistible Camembert as a precautionary measure due to the possible presence of Listeria monocytogenes. Listeria monocytogenes is a bacterium that can cause foodborne illness, particularly among vulnerable groups – these are pregnant women, unborn and newborn babies, those over 60 years old and anyone with a weakened immune system. (FSA)
  • Wiper and True is withdrawing its bottles of Citrus and Sevens (330ml and 500ml) Indian Pale Ale beer due to the presence of lactose which is not declared on the labelling, resulting in the undeclared presence of a milk ingredient. (FSA)
  • Asco Foods Ltd is recalling three batches of Leslie’s Clover Chips barbecue flavour corn snack. The product contains milk, which is not mentioned on the ingredients list. The product also contains soya which is not correctly labelled. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents and/or an allergy to soya. (FSA)
  • The Chef’s Kitchen Limited is withdrawing its Premium Quality Style Port and Premium Quality Style Madeira because the products contain sulphur dioxide, which is not mentioned on the packaging. This means the products are a possible health risk for anyone with a sensitivity to sulphur dioxide or sulphites. (FSA)
  • P&B (Foods) Ltd is asking its retail customers to withdraw from sale Heera Premium Quality Golden Bread Crumbs because there is no ingredients list on the product. The product contains wheat, which means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to wheat or intolerance to gluten. (FSA)
  • Aston Manor Cider is recalling bottles of its Chardolini Sparkling Perry (75cl) with lot codes of L27105N3 and L5328N3 because the product may contain small fragments of glass at the bottom of the bottle. This means the product is a possible risk to health. (FSA)
  • Sainsbury’s is recalling a number of its Camembert products with use by dates up to and including 6 March 2016 due to low levels of Listeria monocytogenes. Listeria monocytogenes is a bacterium that can cause foodborne illness, particularly among vulnerable groups – these are pregnant women, unborn and newborn babies, those over 60 years old and anyone with a weakened immune system. (FSA)
  • Kettle Foods Ltd is recalling bags of Kettle Chips with a 'best before' date of 28 May 2016 because the products may contain pieces of plastic. This means these products are a possible risk to health. (FSA)
  • As a precautionary measure, Lytham Foods is recalling Taylors of Lytham Chicken Tikka Sandwiches due to the possible presence of Salmonella in the tikka powder ingredient used to manufacture this product. The supplier of the tikka powder, Catermix, has also manufactured this ingredient in unhygienic conditions and failed to comply with the food hygiene regulations. (FSA)
  • Asda is recalling some of its ‘Biere De Luxe’ product because some bottles might break upon opening. (FSA)
  • As a precautionary measure, Easy Eats UK Ltd is recalling various Snacksters, Snax on the Go and Best In Chicken Tikka products due to the possible presence of salmonella in the tikka powder ingredient used to manufacture these products. Salmonella is a bacterium that can cause food poisoning. (FSA)
  • Bart Ingredients is recalling some batches of its Bart Pickling Spice 80g because a small number of jars have a printing error on the label and contain mustard seeds. This means the product contains mustard seeds which are not mentioned on the label. The product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to mustard. (FSA)

Ireland Recalls

  • The FSAI has been informed by the Netherlands Food and Consumer Products Safety Authority that two batches of this product contain the substances Methyl-synephrine (Oxilofrine), ß-Methylphenethylamine, and N_ß-dimethylphenethylamine.  This product was sold to a number of sport and health stores in Ireland.  In addition, the product is labelled to contain the unauthorised novel food ingredient Acacia rigidula. Canada Recalls 

  • Advantage Health Matters is recalling Organic Traditions brand Sprouted Flax Seed Powder and Sprouted Chia & Flax Seed Powder from the marketplace due to possible Salmonella contamination. Consumers should not consume the recalled products. (Canada Inspection)
  • Paolini's Sausage and Meats, Calgary, Alberta is recalling certain sausage products from the marketplace due to possible E. coli O157:H7 contamination. Consumers should not consume and distributors, retailers, and food service establishments should not sell or use the recalled products. (Canada Inspection)
  • Seoul Trading Corporation is recalling Delicious "Vegetabel" Fish Sausage from the marketplace because it may contain egg which is not declared on the label. People with an allergy to egg should not consume the recalled product. (Canada Inspection)
  • Sabatini U. Gourmet Foods is recalling Sabatini's Gourmet Foods brand Beef and Vegetable Pie and Chicken Pot Pie from the marketplace because they contain egg which is not declared on the label. People with an allergy to egg should not consume the recalled products. (Canada Inspection)
  • A&E Distribution Inc. is recalling Fjord Laks brand Gravlax marinated salmon from the marketplace due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. Consumers should not consume the recalled product. (Canada Inspection)
  • Zian Trading Company Limited is recalling Frozen King brand Surimi Chunks from the marketplace because it may contain egg which is not declared on the label. People with an allergy to egg should not consume the recalled product. (Canada Inspection)
  • The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is warning people with an allergy to egg not to consume and retailers, restaurants and institutions not to sell or use the product because it contains egg which is not declared on the label. (Canada Inspection)
  • Pan Asia Food Co. is recalling Sura brand Seafood Pancake product from the marketplace because it may contain egg which is not declared on the label. (Canada Inspection)
  • Losos brand fish products recalled due to undeclared mustard and wheat. (Canada Inspection)

US Recalls  

  • All lot codes up to and including February 8, 2016 of Giant Eagle brand Japanese Breaded Cod Fillets, prepared and sold from the Seafood department inside Giant Eagle and Market District supermarkets through February 4, 2016 have been voluntarily recalled by Giant Eagle due to an undeclared soy allergen. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to soy run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products. The product is safe for consumption by those who do not have soy allergies. (FSA)
  • Salinas, California – Fresh Express Incorporated is announcing a precautionary recall of a limited quantity of 32-ounce Fresh Express Chopped Romaine with a Product Code of G034A06A and Use-By Date of February 19 due to a possible exposure to undeclared allergens. Fresh Express representatives are already coordinating with stores to remove the recalled product from retail stores where distributed, primarily in Eastern and Southeastern states. No other Fresh Express products are included in this recall. (FSA)
  • TF Foods of Paramount, CA is recalling its 10.60 ounce packages of "Fried Bean Snack (Na-Pia-Jo)" food treats because they may contain undeclared peanuts. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products. (FSA)
  • The Jel Sert Company of West Chicago, Illinois, is issuing a voluntary recall notice for 52 cases of Margaritaville Banana Cream Pie Filling, 4.16 ounce carton that was used for sales samples and gift packages distributed nationwide, because it has the possibility to be contaminated with Salmonella. (FDA)
  • BJ's Wholesale Club, Inc., is voluntarily issuing a recall of Cittero Mortadella and deli meats sold from January 20 through February 3, 2016 due to a possible exposure to a tree nut allergen (pistachio). People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to pistachios run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products. (FDA)
  • Living Tree Community Foods of Berkeley, California is recalling Organic Macadamia Nuts and Organic Macadamia Butter, because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.   • In the abundance of caution, H-E-B is issuing a voluntary recall for H-E-B Creamy Creations Caramel Pecan Turtle Ice Cream due to the possible presence of wood pieces in the product. (FDA)
  • Mahina Mele Farms, LLC is expanding a voluntary recall of its macadamia nut products within expiry after FDA testing found Salmonella in macadamia nuts. One sample from LOT 30 was found to be positive for Salmonella Give.While we are not aware of any further positive samples, Mahina Mele Farms feels it is in the best interest of public health to voluntarily recall ALL lots currently on the market, until the source of the contamination can be identified. (FDA)
  • Braga Organic Farms announces the voluntary recall of pistachios due to potential contamination with Salmonella, an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella can experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis. (FDA)
  • European Natural Food & Trading Co, Inc. of Paterson, NJ is recalling Brian's Cauliflower 83 oz. due to undeclared sulfites. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to sulfites run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products. (FDA)
  • Garden of Life LLC is voluntarily withdrawing a limited quantity of its Raw Meal Organic Shake & Meal Chocolate, Original, Vanilla and Vanilla Chai because they have the potential to contain Salmonella Virchow. Even though Garden of Life routinely performs pathogen testing on every finished good lot to ensure safety and no product has ever tested positive for the presence of Salmonella, the company felt it was in the public's best interest to take this voluntary action. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis. (FDA)
  • Vosges, LTD, a Chicago, Ill. establishment, is recalling approximately 135 pounds of Uncured Bacon Ganache chocolate products due to misbranding and undeclared allergens, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. The product contains coconut, a known allergen which is not declared on the product label. (USDA)
  • Marin Pasta Works, a San Rafael, Calif. establishment, is recalling approximately 491 pounds of pork ravioli products that were produced without the benefit of federal inspection, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. (USDA)
  • The Noble Spoon, a Santa Rosa, Calif. establishment, is recalling approximately 289 pounds of beef and chicken entree products that were produced without the benefit of federal inspection and do not have a federal mark of inspection, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. Australia and New Zealand Recalls 

  • Flush Fitness has recalled Raw Meal Organic Shake and Meal Replacement (unflavoured)and Raw Meal Chocolate Organic Shake and Meal Replacement from various specialty nutrition stores in NSW, QLD, VIC, SA, NT, WA due to microbial  (Salmonella) contamination. Food products contaminated with Salmonella virchow may cause illness if consumed. Consumers should not eat this product. Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice. The product/s can be returned to the place of purchase for a full refund. (FSA)
  • Woolworths Limited has recalled Woolworths Fresh Cut Loose Baby Spinach 1kg and Woolworths Fresh Cut Salad Loose Mesculin 1kg from Woolworths in NSW, ACT and VIC due to microbial (salmonella) contamination. Food products contaminated with salmonella may cause illness if consumed. Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice.   • Green Press Holdings Pty Ltd has recalled Forever Young from Green Press Holdings Pty Ltd and online in Vic due to the presence of an undeclared allergen (fish). Any consumers who have a fish allergy or intolerance may have a reaction if the product is consumed. Consumers who have a fish allergy or intolerance should not consume this product.   • Tripod Farmers Pty Ltd has recalled the following products from Coles, Bi-Lo (VIC, NSW, SA, NT & ACT), Woolworths (ACT, VIC & NSW) and other independent outlets in NSW, QLD, VIC, SA, NT and ACT due to microbial (salmonella) contamination.
