SOFHT Training Award for Simon Flanagan

Simon Flanagan of RSSL has won the SOFHT Award for Best Trainer 2010. The award, presented at the Savoy Hotel on November 18, recognises Simon's pioneering role in providing allergen management training to food companies in the UK and Europe.

RSSL's courses have helped many companies to gain a greater understanding of the practicalities of allergen management and in particular helped to improve the risk assessment methodology, which ultimately provides greater assurance in product labelling and improving product safety.

The SOFHT Awards recognise and celebrate excellence within the food industry and its associated industries.

Commenting on the award, Simon notes, "I am grateful to our clients who nominated me for this award, and to the colleagues at RSSL who helped in developing and supporting the training. Allergen management is a team effort, affecting all employees within a food organisation and their many suppliers, and so this award is also a credit to the thousands of people who are actually implementing the best practice that we try to deliver in our courses. I have lost count of the number of people we have trained but it is good to know that we are helping them, and ultimately helping the allergic consumer to make purchases with confidence."
