RSSL expands GMP thermal analysis capabilities

We are enhancing our thermal analysis offering with the addition of a TA TGA5500 Thermogravimetric Analyser.

Investment in this new instrument, pictured right, will provide a more comprehensive service for investigational analysis, method development and validation for GMP analysis and release testing.

The key features of the TGA5500 include:

  • Tru-Mass balance enabling enhanced sensitivity (10x more than the previous model), delivering the highest resolution to separate components of complex sample matrices
  • Combines infrared heating technology delivering rapid heating (up to 1200C) and cooling rates
  • 25 position automated sample holder and sealed pan punching enables the rapid throughput and environmental control of air sensitive and volatile samples
  • Tailored analysis for complex samples enabling customised client service

Our new TGA complements our existing range of GMP compliant thermal analysis instruments which includes a DSC2500 differential scanning calorimeter and the SDT simultaneous thermal analyser. Investment in this type of instrumentation demonstrates RSSL’s continuous commitment to be the partner of choice, delivering quality analysis in a timely manner through continuous progression and investment in both our subject experts and the latest technology.

In addition to stand alone thermal analysis, our physical form and formulation experts routinely combine thermal analysis with our other GMP analytical techniques including X-ray diffraction (XRPD), Dynamic Vapour sorption (DVS), water activity and microscopy.

Our orthogonal approaches allow for the delivery of complex information through API and formulation development including:
